Waning Brightly

The Moon in Capricorn is waning brightly in the sky and because so many planets are currently in the earth signs; Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, this waning Moon is heralding mostly harmonious tidings for the next two days. It seems certain that during this time something in our unconscious will push to take form and with this much influence of the earth signs we can expect that whatever is seeking to be born within us has something to do with our practical concerns; like figuring a way of making money doing what we love to do, or paying attention to a neglected part of our body. Today begins with the promise of transformation and the possibility of letting go of something in our unconscious which has prevented us from achieving what we want in life. Admittedly, it is scary to give up what we know, regardless of how unsatisfying, for what we don’t know but the next two days are offering us supporting hands to do just that. When the Moon is moving toward the last quarter we feel obliged to take action reflecting something we understood about the offering of the Full Moon. The Full Moon was in Scorpio which means that we are offered a deeply transforming experience that can heal a past wounding to our self esteem and self worth. All we need be is willing to change our past.
It is important to remember that a Capricorn Moon is a debilitated Moon and it can administer an authoritative tone which can be alienating and cold. One challenge facing us is not to sever our feelings this week in sacrifice for pragmatic solutions which may in the short term subdue our anxieties but ultimately leave us feeling deprived. This week is offering the fulfillment of a long awaited dream which we have swept under an overly burdened carpet in our haste to honor our daily responsibilities. Venus and Neptune are in creative union today offering us the possibility to bring our dream alive and well into the world, we need only the courage to manifest our ideals. And as the Moon continues it’s travels through Capricorn we can expect that our conscious mind will diligently pursue whatever be our chosen course of action and we may surprise ourselves at the ease with which we include new ideas and information as we become more of who we want to be. The last aspects the Moon makes before going void of course, at 5:18 am CDT, is an authoritative opposition to Mars and then a square to Venus, which will introduce resistance to what we are doing, which is a reminder that our objective is tenacity, patience, and commitment to sustaining our efforts to achieve what we want in life.
A friend recently sent me an excerpt of a poem written by Rainer Maria Rilke, which seems a fitting expression for a Capricorn Moon.
My life is not this steeply sloping hour
In which you see my hurrying.
Much stands behind me.
I have faith in all those things that are not yet said.
What no one has dared to want
Will be for me impossible to refuse.
The Moon in Capricorn is void of course April 27 at 5:18 am CDT and enters Aquarius at 12:27pm CDT
