A Healing Mind

“Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so” *

I awoke early this morning feeling that the things I need to complete in the immediate future are backing up behind me like a gargantuan mountain avalanche ready to roll! Could this be Mercury whispering in my ear? With a push from Mars moving in Gemini? I pressed the re-wind tab on the tape circling through my mind and while I have reason to feel pressed; I move out of the country in two weeks and I haven’t organized a thing, the reality is that I am not moving a household of items only clothing and lots of books! Making this relatively speaking an easy move. Hurray for a refreshing shift, albeit minor, in consciousness! On the day after the eclipse my first thought upon waking was that I was focusing on the non essential details for my blog preventing it from getting finished and causing me to feel frustrated. Hurray for another refreshing change of view. I am certain that my recent experiences have to do with what has been happening since the eclipse, i.e. the seeds for our potential growth in consciousness that were planted during the Solar Eclipse have been entrusted to Mercury’s care. The first opportunity Mercury had to share our treasure was with our celestial healer Chiron.

Chiron is the dimension in our unconscious which radiates our ability to heal a deep wounding within ourselves which when healed can become a source for our healing others. Mercury and Chiron touched one another on February 7 at 16 Aquarius and will touch again on March 3 at 17 Aquarius, the same degree as the Solar Eclipse. We certainly are being given ample opportunity to open our heart and mind to new possibilities, as yet non lived, but in order for us to grow in conscious understanding we may need to over come our stubborn insistence to hold onto the old because we invested so much time and effort in making it what it is. Mercury and Saturn are in mutual exchange which offers the best and worst in each other and could account for the prickly mood of meticulous self- criticism and doubt so familiar with Virgo and the refusal to receive a different opinion on any subject the Achilles heal of Aquarius. Perhaps this is the time for an early spring cleaning letting the fresh air of Aquarius blow away our mental cobwebs gathered from years past.

With Chiron in Aquarius we are given an opportunity to heal a mental wounding preventing us from developing a truly independent mind. In her book Chiron And The Healing Journey Melanie Reinhart writes this about Chrion in Aquarus, “we benefit by learning to use our own individual minds creatively, concretely, and with rational discrimination. If we can build a suitable Saturnian vehicle for the Uranian energy of our thoughts we may find ourselves able to make an important contribution to others through our truly independent thinking.” Interestingly so, on the day of the Solar eclipse Uranus was at 17 Pisces in exact semi-sextile with the Sun, Moon, and Mercury, and very likely influencing the dissolution of our long cherished ideals which are not true reflections of our individuality. If we can shift our perspective and look at ourselves with new eyes we may see that we have outgrown our old ways of thinking and that we are ready to think in a new way about what we want to contribute to society and how what we give can be of benefit for all.
