The Luminous Face of Aries

Today, Mercury shifting celestial gears enters Aries and directs our undivided attention toward how we assert our thoughts and feelings in the world of form and structure. Aries, ruled by Mars, is definitely not a contemplative aspect of ourself, on the contrary, it is that aspect in each of us most focused on asserting our will and demanding what we want in life. For this reason, Mercury in Aries suggests a time for bold, direct, decisive communication. When we are under the influence of Aries we have little patience for either subtle or manipulative conversation. Luckily for those of us having difficulty in honestly asserting our thoughts or feelings this Mercury transit, in companionship with the Sun and Venus in Aries, will bolster our courage and infuse our self-confidence by demonstratively pushing us out into the competitive world of individual self-expression.
Whenever we are under the influence of Aries a new aspect of ourself is being born demanding our undivided attention and thoughtful consideration. With the Sun, Venus, and now Mercury in Aries this is a great time to focus on what aspect of ourself we want to birth. On March 30 Mercury and the Sun conjoin in Aries signaling Mercury’s impending retrograde station and suggesting to me a cosmic gift of sight but not without a little soul searching. The first aspect Mercury makes is a square to Pluto in Capricorn guaranteeing transformation of a difficult kind as our impulse to communicate who we are and what we think runs up against a stern, authoritative presence that may be invisible to our conscious eye, but never the less, demanding a deep and irrevocable change in our perception of who we think we are.
If we are smart we will resist the temptation to butt our head up against a brick wall acting out the more crude expression of Aries; and instead, consider developing the necessary courage to think on our own. Now is the time to break free from conventional ideas that keep us chained to the past and fearful of the future. Aries, the sign of new beginnings, has us poised for action if we are willing to stand our ground and assert what we think regardless of the support of others. Admittedly where Aries raises its head there is a delicate line separating independence and obstinacy so we need to be especially alert during this transit to focus on asserting our independence in a constructive and beneficial way to ourself and others, and in so doing, consider the consequences of our actions and demonstrate our capacity for courageous leadership which reflects the luminous face of Aries.
