Enduring Silence

The Moon is the fastest moving celestial body moving from sign to sign in two and  a half days at which time we may feel a shift in our mood depending upon what astrological signs reign predominant in our birth chart. The last two days the Moon glowed in Aries, our emotions flared, and most likely we experienced  an event during that time which pricked our feelings  causing us to re-act with quickened defense. This Aries Moon was in conflict with Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Sun which significantly distorted the usual  flow of our life, disrupting the peace and harmony so precious to Libra. It is not surprising that many of us found ourselves feeling frustrated when we asserted our emotional needs. If our relationships felt “lopsided” or “out of whack” it might have been because we were unwittingly igniting our internal disharmony breathing flames out into the world. Today, the Moon flows exalted in Taurus, feeling secure and robust, dancing in harmony with Jupiter, Saturn, and the Sun, the  Moon promises a day when we walk with our feet firmly upon the Earth, facing our responsibilities with calm courage  and secure knowing that we have the skills necessary to achieve our goals. Gone are the emotional fireworks of the last days allowing us to sit content in the enduring silence of the Earth.

How lucky we are to have our feet firmly planted on Earth at the same time that our hearts have wings to fly. Mercury and Venus, the planets closest to the Sun and to our hearts, are enjoying a harmonious interlude with Neptune in Aquarius. Ordinarily, Neptune is that aspect in our self found swimming in the waters of  Universal love, and when Neptune is in Aquarius we find our self elivated, swiming in the clouds. Yesterday, Venus in Libra made a harmonious trine to Neptune in Aquarius, and because Libra loves nothing quite as much as harmony and Venus and Neptune are the celestial spheres of love, with Neptune leaning on the unconditional side, chances are we experienced a softer than usual landing from any mishaps delivered by the Aries Moon. When Venus and Neptune are in harmony we magically dance in the arms of the cosmic grace finding our courage to fly.

Yesterday, Venus set the scene softening our hearts, and tomorrow Mercury, stepping into the celestial spotlight, opens our mind to the magical world of our inner vision; our imagination soaring, our dreams our realities. Neptune is encouraging us to think with our heart and I am reminded that when asked where the mind is in the human body the Tibetans put their hands over their hearts. The mind and the heart one.

Mercury, the cosmic keeper of our mind, is crawling  in Libra inching toward a retrograde station which is certain to complicate our communication with others if we send smoke screens tactfully concealing our  honest thoughts because we prefer deception rather than risk offending. The coming Mercury retrograde is guaranteed to reveal, at the most inopportune times, the ambivalence and indecision we are harboring, to help us think more honestly, more decisively, about what has value for us. Mercury Rx in Libra will give us the precious time to re-consider the wisdom of our decision to conceal our true thoughts, even for the sake of peace, when what we  may have sacrificed is the honesty that is a prerequisite for trust.

I will be writing later in the week on the significance of  this Mercury Rx. Consider my brief mention today a foreshadow, as it seems that Mercury’s notorious misbehaving has jumped the gun; a computer crashing unexpectedly last night and two kindred spirits missing one another in the dark.
