Unhindered Communicating

Today, the day before the Autumnal Equinox, the waning Gemini Moon squares the last degree of the Sun in Virgo,  and with a quiet finality brings to completion the lunar cycle which began at the Virgo new Moon. Gemini and Virgo are both under the ruling  guidance of our celestial messenger and great communicator, Mercury, whose wisdom is directing this waning Moon and our attention to an internal conflict  with our perception of “what is”.  Interestingly so, this is the second waning Gemini Moon within the past month, making it all the more urgent that we comprehend with conscious awareness how we perceive our reality. Liz Greene reminds us that Mercury, possessing the keys to knowledge, becomes our cosmic messenger unhindered to  journey to and fro between the gods and between the gods and mortal humankind. In ancient mythologies, The Greek Hermes, the Egyptian Throth, and the Tuetonic Loki, are symbols of the way we perceive, as well as, how we order our perceptions so that  they can be comprehended and communicated. Ultimately, Mercury is that urge in each of us to understand; to integrate unconscious motive with conscious recognition.*

The Moon, symbol of our unconscious motives, and the Sun, symbol of our conscious recognition, offer us a  period of contemplation and integration with each waning phase of the monthly lunar cycle, but with both luminous lights under the rule of Mercury it seems more urgent that we consciously integrate our unconscious motives unless we want to fall deeper into the trickster reflection of Mercury and further evade and deceive ourselves and others. Too much is happening in the world for any individual on Earth not to re-examine the way they perceive reality. The personal is the political making it imperative that we clearly recognize the internal motives which are determining our choices in life and shaping our world view. The Gemini waning Moon can help us recognize our unconscious motives that; evade what feels unpleasant or uncomfortable in our life, circumvent taking personal responsibility for what happens in the world, and absolve self- responsibility by blaming others for all the problems.  The Virgo Sun can bring conscious recognition that evading personal responsibility may be preventing us from becoming whole and complete within ourselves. Virgo is that aspect in our self  while striving for perfection  recognizes the necessity to face our faults and accept our mistakes without placing them upon the sacrificial alter of self- defeat and resignation, which ultimately becomes another form of emotional  evasion and self -deception. If we accept the Virgo gift of wholeness we can heal our dependency on needing the reflection of another to provide our form, and we can easily discern how we are contributing to what is happening in the world and willing accept  personal responsibility for the duties of our life with dignity and a keen wanting to be of service to all of humanity.
