Eternally Young

Every time you have a thought, decide on one thing and not another, understand what you are feeling, or communicate from your heart, you run arm and arm with the Mercury dimension of you unconscious mind. Every time you call a friend, listen to music, or write your thoughts on-line Mercury is at your side. Have you ever observed the constant motion of your hyperactive mind and witnessed the confident forming and rapid dissolving of a thought? So similar to a big, billowy white cloud moving across a clear blue sky. Mercurial Mercury is everywhere remaining nowhere. He is our blessed messenger tirelessly flying between our unconscious and conscious mind, a cosmic shape shifter, mischief maker, and fool, without whom we would loose all awareness of ourselves and our lives.
Yesterday, Mercury offered us a “peak experience” of awareness, which may not become fully conscious for many months, but, the seeds planted in yesterday’s Solar Eclipse fell into the open hands of Mercury insuring our growth in consciousness. Mercury has been moving backward in the sky helping us re-track our thinking in some area of our life, and February 6 was the culmination of what ever it is we have been re-thinking. With Mercury moving forward, backward, and forward again, in the sign of Aquarius chances are we are re-thinking some aspect of our participation in group consciousness with recent events highlighting our personal responsibility for contributing something of ourselves to help enrich the quality of life for the collective good.
The American presidential primaries are one example where individual participation effects the quality of life for people throughout the world, and the time ripe for the Democratic candidate, Barac Obama, to garland the imagination of the young voters wanting a new change in American consciousness. “Eternal youth” is the most enchanting of Mercury’s illusive disguises and in Aquarius he is breathing into the stale corners of our mind a fresh enthusiasm and an unquenchable thirst to discover life anew. One exciting possible change in the future, requiring an open mind and change of heart, is for the Democratic candidates to celebrate the diversity of the party and truly honor it’s liberal mandates, without which neither candidate today would be standing in divisive opposition. Putting self interest aside Clinton and Obama, can radicalize American politics by embracing each other’s difference and working together instead of apart to enhance the quality of life in America and around the world. Perhaps the seed planted yesterday will germinate into a truly radical new American landscape where two presidential candidates are elected to work as one.
