If your libido perked up the last few days it may have something to do with Venus entering Scorpio and shifting our amorous attention from the aesthetic grace of Libra to an intense desire to merge. Venus is that aspect in each of us aware of the sensual pleasures of love and when our goddess of love is in Scorpio those pleasures acquire an intensity that can feel overwhelming if not handled with wisdom. Scorpio is that aspect in each of us seeking emotional security, and when Scorpio is mated with Venus relationships become the area in our life where we seek emotional security, and consequently, feel ourself most vulnerable and emotionally exposed. It is feeling intensely vulnerable when under the influence of Scorpio that has earned this much maligned sign the troubled reputation for  being secretive and manipulative when it may be more accurate to say that “still waters run deep.”

The next three weeks guarantee a deeper valuing of our relationships including our relationship with ourself.  When Venus is in Scorpio we are aware of the psychological underpinnings of our relationships and may find ourself delving below superficial niceties in order to create a deeper bonding. Be prepared for unconscious motives and desires from our earliest experiences of love to rise  to the top like heavy cream. In actuality, Venus in Scorpio is helping us break down what we value about ourself and others so that we can build new values that are more authentically our own.  In order for this to happen we need to look honestly at how we love ourself and others, and when Venus is in Scorpio truth saying becomes erotic foreplay.

Mars in Leo is disposing of Venus in Scorpio and under the tutelage of the god of war we may feel embattled with insecurities and uncertainties about our self-worth and value. Leo helps us to see ourself in what we create  and when Mars is in Leo we are asked to see what our actions have created. This transit of Venus is encouraging naked honesty of a kind intolerant of deception making it difficult for us to hide behind false values. This is an important key unlocking the gift of this transit and one which I believe will help  each of us awaken in a deeper understanding of the difference between what we have and who we are. One of our greatest challenges at this time is understanding the true value of our wealth if we are too successfully navigate the turbulant waters of today’s crisis of change.
