A Necessary Wholeness

Androgeny“We stand at a critical moment in Earth’s history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future at once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we, the peoples of Earth, declare our responsibility to one another, to the greater community of life, and to future generations – The Earth Charter.”*

December opened with  the forward thrust of Uranus  stationing direct in Pisces and Venus lunging  ahead in Sagittarius. What makes this so exciting is the mutual exchange ricochet between Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, and Venus. Uranus is in the sign co-ruled by Jupiter and Neptune, Neptune and Jupiter are in the sign co-ruled by Uranus, and Venus, exalted in Pisces, is in Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter. In other words, the celestial spotlight is on all things Piscean and Aquarian this month, and directing our attention to a spiritual awakening, a revolution in the collective unconscious, a merging of humanitarian ideals, a broadening of human relationships, an emancipation of human suffering, a rebelling against separatist ideals, a mystical union between technology and nature. It is equally as possible that we  will experience the dark face of these two archetypes deluding humanity, inflating religious propaganda, confusing self-righteous Truth with spiritual awakening, sacrificing innovative change to maintain the status quo, demanding dogmatic allegiance to our belief system, and surfeiting our resources. What is needed this month is to shift our perception of what we know by gaining a broader view of  how we perceive reality.

The round, full, luminous Moon in Gemini was pregnant with the possibility of transforming our perception of  what we think is Truth.  This years Full Moon in Gemini was the full phase of a Scorpio New Moon that offered us a dying to our attachment with our past in order to be born fresh, anew, in our present. The Sun, our life vitality, is  currently in Sagittarius that aspect in each of us reaching beyond our material reality in search of understanding our connection with something greater than ourself. When we are under the influence of Sagittarius we often disregard the ordinary details of our life preferring the broader stroking of our human potential and life possibilities.

When the Moon is full in Gemini a different story is being told of sharing our common  human experiences in ways that foster understanding each other. When we are under the influence of Gemini we put our judgment aside and open our mind to hearing what our heart is saying because we value our experience of learning regardless of the source of the information.  Gemini is our mental breath, that aspect in each of us inhaling and exhaling  each moment of our experience of life, circulating our thoughts and feelings freely without obstruction.

How appropriate that began the Copenhaugen Climate Conference began under the auspicious illumination of a Gemini Full Moon helping to open the minds  and hearts of those attending to search for a greater understanding and accepting of the Earth’s  climate. Mercury rising conjoined Pluto in Capricorn and together they insure a depth of communication at the conference that is committed  to a  thorough investigation of the raw, naked truth about the Earth’s climate and resources.

Today, on the second day of the conference, the Moon enters a waning phase, and the Moon in Virgo is demanding improvement of the situation insisting upon honoring the natural rhythms of nature. It is time that we listen to what the body has to say.  The waning phase of the the Moon brings a time  of integration and offering  to the collective experience of humanity. On December 20 Jupiter will conjoin Neptune in Aquarius, the last time  for 143 years, and this meaningful planetary contact foretells of the potential for a healing of the Earth’s environment that in all likely hood will require that humanity integrate technology with indigenous wisdom to bring forth a necessary  wholeness of the body, mind, and spirit of life on Earth.

    hi William,

your comments always appreciated. my Sagittarius ascendant enjoys shinning light into darkness, so that even the Capricorn Mercury -Pluto conjunction square Saturn in Libra offers us the potential for a creative resolution healing the past.
