In cultures around the world it is said that on November 1 and 2 the portals open between the living and the dead allowing us on Earth to mourn the one in celebration of the other. What makes this November 2 an even more potent celebration of life is the Scorpio Full Moon; the annual Full Moon of death and transformation. Every month the milky-white luminosity of a Full Moon reflects the life force of the Sun beaming sweet nourishment to our soul. Every autumn when the Sun enters Scorpio we experience a breaking down of our individuality, and when the Sun in Scorpio opposes the Moon in Taurus we begin breaking down the hollowed, inauthentic aspects of ourself that have starved our soul. The Moon is exalted in Taurus creating enduring change and growth, and when the Moon is full in Taurus the promised growth becomes our reality when we understand that material security comes from the deepest roots of our being.

Easier said than done. Making no mistakes the journey to our eternal being is mined with unimagined traps of every distortion, inventions and manifestations of our fears, meant to prevent our growing in a deeper self -awareness. Our greatest fears reside at the side of death but oddly so not so much our physical death as the death of our knowledge of what we think is real. This is a fascinating conundrum that human consciousness has created for itself, suggesting that knowledge is a dead thing, if we consider that knowledge comes from past experience and past experience is something that has already happened hence it is dead and gone.

Our attachment to what we think is emphasized this Full Moon both by Mercury in Scorpio and the challenging aspects the Sun and Moon will make to Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune in Aquarius. This month illuminates our resistance to change highlighting our determination to build security by holding onto what we think, what we feel, and what we own. It seems likely that one of our greatest lessons this month will have something to do with trusting our inner authority and building a permanent alter in respect of our self-worth.

The last aspect the Taurus Moon makes before leaving sign is a trine to the North Node in Capricorn pointing an authoritative finger in the direction of our future growth; letting go of our dependency on the past and accepting personal responsibility and leadership in creating our personal security from the inside out. Saturn recently entered Libra shifting our sense of personal responsibility away from health toward relating with one another. Our relationships with one another truly foster our greatest growth and if we consider that this month is our time to die to what we know about ourself, in the spirit of Krishnamurti’s immortal words, “freedom from the known”, we have a wonderful opportunity to relate to one another with fresh possibility.

There is a discordant restlessness, a frothing of fear and greed, reflected in the glowing warmth of this season’s Harvest Moon, threatening to lay waste to our annual sharing of prosperity with one other. This is the first Full Moon of the Autumnal Equinox; that time of year when the Sun in Libra, radiating grace and beauty in the northern hemisphere, demarcates a conscious shift in our self-awareness signaling the time to share ourself with others. When we are under the influence of Libra we are seeking peace and harmony not war and strife. This is one reason why the Libra Full Moon poignantly illuminates the awkward transition we humans make from self -determined actualization to conciliatory diplomatic negotiation, hopefully not sacrificing the one to the other. The Moon in Aries, promoting emotional courage and independence to assert our needs, also garners impulsive reaction often triggered by our unconscious motives, which, if not tempered with a modicum of judicious measure can backfire causing harsh reactions from others. This Full Moon is urging each of us to create balance within ourself and in our relationships with others. Remembering that this is the Full Moon phase of a New Moon in Virgo may help each of us to work on improving a difficult relationship requiring our patience and acceptance of what is.

The Moon in Aries and Mars in Cancer seem to be working, at least at the moment, hand in fist creating an atmosphere of steamy self-defense and moody sensitivity upsetting the delicate scales of social justice. This Aries Moon is illuminating the powerful impulse of regeneration having made a square to Pluto in Capricorn a few hours before opposing the Sun. Pluto intensifies what it touches and when it is the Moon we can expect a transformation to occur at our deepest roots. This month we may discover that taking direct action in care of others regenerates the meaning of family. This is the month to shed our crustacean armor protecting our vulnerability at the cost of intimacy. The Moon-Mars mutual exchange stimulates emotional courage and independent daring that can propel us beyond circumscribed tribalism that restricts the nourishing and protecting of our universal family.

The Mars-Uranus trine foretells of free spirited individualism upsetting the status quo and acting on behalf of humanitarian justice. The Mars-Neptune quincunx warns us against being duped by false sentimentality and nationalism used as a deceptive ploy to confuse or erode our decisive action in service of humanity. It is important during this month to travel the “high road” and not get bogged down with distracting innuendos that diffuse the bigger picture. Venus in Virgo quincunx Jupiter Rx in Aquarius is warning against exaggerating our personal discontent and dissatisfaction to such grandiose proportions that we loose our equilibrium.

Our equilibrium is further challenged this month as Mercury, recently stationed direct in Virgo, opposing Uranus in Pisces and quincunx Neptune in Aquarius sets off an electrical current turning our perception of “self and other” topsy – turvy. Be prepared for the tried -and- true in your daily life to be disrupted in unexpected ways bringing a combination of flashes of keen insight and radiant illumination along with muddled conversations and ruptured communication. When Mercury is in Virgo our attention is directed toward the precision of our thoughts and feelings allowing the exactitude of language to clearly define our intellectual parameters. When Mercury opposes Uranus those parameters tend to explode into a prismatic vista of unfamiliar sensations forcing us to embrace the unknown by opening our head and heart to unimagined possibilities. Aries is our impulse to “be” and this month under the Full Moon illumination we are encouraged to explore hidden aspects of our “be-ing-ness” that if brought to conscious light and placed upon an alter of courageous action may balance the scales of human love.

At the time of the Full Moon Mercury, Uranus, Mars, and Neptune, each in a different sign, are at 24 degrees. I thought it worth examining the Sabien Symbols for that degree and sign to gain a deeper understanding of our potential growth in self- awareness during this lunation cycle.

Mercury, the universal principle of thought and communication, 24 Virgo : “Freshness of viewpoint un-inhibited by social intellectual preoccupations. Vibrant simplicity. Spirit – born imagination.

Uranus, the universal principle of shocking change, 24 Pisces : “Adaptability and inherent creativeness of man. Extreme of surety in self-expression. Centralization of supernal forces.”

Mars, the universal principle of willful action, 24 Cancer : “”The three “souls” in man – actional, emotional, mental – “exiled” in the body. Potential fulfillment. Sense of being lost in life.”

Neptune, the universal principle of union and oneness, 24 Aquarius : “Utilization of experience and passion by the intelligence that remains un-involved. Self-conquering. Genuine dispassion.”

This week we are under the guiding influence of the waning phase of the Gemini lunation cycle gently turning our conscious awareness toward introspective self-reflection. Each waning phase of every monthly lunation cycle necessitates a time when we integrate the external activities of the preceding three weeks by ingesting the illumination of the Full Moon in anticipation of sharing our acquired insights with others. This waning Moon is in Pisces square the Sun in Gemini and if we consider the elemental marriage of water and air we quickly realize the inherent conflict reflected in this waning Moon: how to integrate an open, spacious self with the unfathomable depths of our psyche without drowning the one and disconnecting from the other?

Adding a rich complexity to this celestial conundrum are ruler and co-ruler of Pisces, Jupiter and Neptune conjoined and retrograde in the spacious breath of Aquarius, also shifting our conscious awareness toward self-reflection. If we then consider that Mercury the ruler of Gemini recently entered the sign of its ruler ship we begin seeing the unmistakable imprinting of our boundless self elevated high above the Earth, and from this aerial perspective we can easily deduce that the myriad connections our unique individuality has been making under the tutelage of Gemini may be ready for a deeper experiencing of ourself unbound by the burdens of physical limitation.

Pisces is the visionary aspect in each of us dissolving boundaries, obstacles, and structures separating rather than uniting us with the Oneness of life; while Gemini, the madcap adolescent in each of us, refuses to be boxed inside prescriptive expectations of our past and demanding personal freedom to roam unencumbered is ever ready for an extra-ordinary experiencing of life that wisely adds buoyancy to our experience of ourself. Gemini is often called the “butterfly” of the zodiac flitting, flirting, and philandering from flower to flower with an innate awareness of the preciousness of life and the urgency of experiencing every moment with abandoned judgement. Perhaps the gift of this waning Moon is the reflection of our unbound self shimmering upon the watery surface of our psyche much like looking at a passing cloud reflected on the surface of a lake helping us to see what lives within.

“Looking back on my own experiences they all converge towards a kind of insight to which I cannot help ascribe some metaphysical significance. The keynote of it is invariably a reconciliation. It is as if the opposites of the world, whose contradictoriness and conflict make all our difficulties and troubles, were melted into unity. Not only do they, as contrasted species, belong to one and the same genus, but one of the species, the nobler and better one, is itself the genus, and so soaks up and absorbs its opposite into itself. This is a dark saying, I know, when thus expressed in terms of common logic, but I cannot wholly escape from its authority. I feel as if it must mean something……Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.” James Joyce was born at the time of a Jupiter -Neptune conjoining in Taurus trine Uranus in Virgo, and wrote the above passage, an excerpt from Varieties, at the time of a Uranus-Neptune opposition.

Today, the first of March, Mercury and Mars conjoin in Aquarius and delivering the first celestial aspect for the month set a powerful intention for those of us living on Earth. One thing we might want to consider is our need to be mindful of how we assert ourself when communicating with our friends especially if we want to avoid unwittingly forcing our opinions onto others and alienating rather than integrating our differences. On the other hand, Mercury in Aquarius can herald a time when our thought forms garner crystal clarity and Mars in Aquarius can deliver an electrical magnetism attracting unconventional action mixed with daring innovation. It is definitely a month for thinking and acting outside the conventional box. We are being given the opportunity to allow fresh, exciting, and unusual ideas to surface from our unconscious, manifest as events in our daily life, and radically alter the way we perceive reality.

But that’s not all Mercury and Mars deliver this month. Mercury in Aquarius, translating the magnetism of Mars in Aquarius, conjoins Chiron on March 3, and Neptune on March 5, insuring the healing of a collective wounding to humanity that requires each of us to surrender on behalf of the collective our attachment to what we think we know. Every individual harbors thoughts that are preventing personal growth, which in turn, are preventing the evolutionary growth of humanity. Buddhism teaches that each individual has a unique perception of reality which he or she imprints upon the collective experience of humanity. Aquarius is that aspect in each of us awakening to the collective needs of humanity aware that our individual participation is mandatory for improving the (e)quality of daily human experience. This March can be a great month for each of us to contribute something uniquely ours, perhaps something until now unimagined, to the collective body of humanity which can profoundly influence the evolutionary growing of our species.

We need only be mindful of what it is that we contribute.

We entered 2009 with an electrical charge in the air; a crisp, crackling current that awakened our mind from a heavy stupor. Our perception of what our future can be has been infused with innovation and originality and now is the time to break down the walls of our conventional thinking. The planet Mercury has boldly entered Aquarius and if we inhale the fresh cosmic breath being offered we may find ourself thinking more freely than we have in many years. On January 5 Jupiter follows Mercury into the arms of Aquarius and for the first time in twelve years our celestial good fortune is companion in arms with our celestial communicator promising us fortunate communication if we resist the temptation to lock dismissive horns with ideas different than our own. When ever Mercury and Jupiter entwine in the sky above we on the ground below are guaranteed that some event in our life will expand our conscious awareness.

When we are under the influence of Aquarius our thoughts turn toward the needs of humanity and preferring an extended world view we tend to shun our cloistered tribal concerns. Aquarius is that aspect in each of us giving birth to something holy unexpected and unknown within ourself that we want to give in benefit to humanity, which is why Aquarius insists upon individual freedom supporting the welfare of the group. It is not surprising that Aquarius is our cosmic wake-up call reminding us that while we are one -of -a -kind originals we are also each one made from the same celestial dust.

Mercury is slowing in the sky preparing to station retrograde on January 11 reminding us that we need to reassess our thinking. In Aquarius it is more than possible that we will be challenged to reconsider our attachment to what we believe and the best advice I can give to those of us who want to expand our perception of what the future can be is to remain mindful of those times when we get prickly listening to what others are saying. Mercury has some unfinished business with Saturn before conjoining Jupiter, the North Node, Chiron, and Neptune, suggesting that before we can expand our consciosness and step into a future full of possibility we need additional self-discipline in our communication skills especially in learning how to separate fact from fiction, fantasy from reality.

This is especially true for those of us born with a strong influence of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces at 21 degrees. This is not a negative experience, in fact, this Full Moon is spurring us onward to fulfill our dreams of the future aided with a tempering of our expectations of what that future will be. Gemini and Sagittarius have difficulty concentrating on the mundane concerns of life and yet this is exactly what we are challenged to do. One lesson taught, and hopefully learned, under the influence of this Full Moon is the necessity to create “boundaries”, which means to respect both the sovereignty of ourself and others. Another lesson offered is learning to take responsibility for fulfilling our commitments by keeping our mind focused on the goal and taking one precious step after another. In other words, this is not a fortuitous time for entertaining distractions. We need to be watchful of becoming discouraged if things are not moving as fast as our mental imagining. The trick this week is to give ourself enough mental breath to “realize” what we think and feel, separate and distinct from others, without escaping into imaginary flights of fancy.

The exuberance of the Sun in Sagittarius opposing the Moon in Gemini conjures a wild horse ready to bolt, which is exactly what we may feel like doing because this Sagittarius Full Moon makes a Grand- Square to Saturn in Virgo opposing Uranus in Pisces, and corrals our expansive vision for the future. Remember this Full Moon is teaching us about boundaries and corralling our vision for the future can actually work in our favor if we accept the celestial challenge and become more methodical in accomplishing our goals. It is also possible that this transit will highlight where in our life we tend to give up too easily fostering frustration, regret, even resentment toward others.

A real treasure of this Full Moon is found in the supportive relationship between Mercury and Jupiter reinforcing that we can accomplishment our goals but it will require self-discipline, an unwavering commitment, and personal sacrifice. Hours before the Full Moon, Mercury, the ruling planet for Gemini and Virgo, entered Capricorn straight into the arms of Pluto a clear signal for transforming our perception of social power, authority, and leadership. Jupiter, the ruling planet for Sagittarius and Pisces, is in the sign of Capricorn and having recently made a trine to Saturn is valiantly navigating a stormy sea of uncertainty. Together, Mercury and Jupiter in Capricorn are helping us achieve what we imagine our future to be by keeping our feet firmly planted on Earth.

The first aspect the Moon made in Gemini was to nourish Venus in Aquarius which accentuated the universal theme of “human value”, and insured that we can experience grace and beauty in the arms of this Full Moon if we put our judgement from the past to sleep and awaken our appreciation for each unique expression of life. This Gemini Moon is also nourishing the North Node, Chiron, and Neptune Aquarius, which is helping us heal a deep wounding to humanity by opening our mind and heart to the unimaginable. Aquarius is that aspect in each of us learning to receive from others, and with the help of the Full Moon after-glow our thirst for new experiences and our quest for the unknown can guide our discovery of the full potential of what the human imagination can accomplish accompanied by self-determination.

When the Sun enters Sagittarius our nights are growing longer than our days and our conscious attention in tandem is seeking an expanded meaning of life beyond our daily toil. The wisdom of our ancestors honored the cycles of the seasons choosing to awaken the story-telling of their life experiences during the lengthening nights when human activity is beckoned inside. In the decreasing daylight of the fall season we find our self spending more hours indoors than out appreciating this time for exploring unfamiliar territory within our self, and expanding our consciousness we set upon an inner journey home to the source of our creation. For the ancient Maya Civilization this home was found at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, the World Tree rooted at the crossing point of the Milky Way along the ecliptic in Sagittarius. In Roman mythology Juno, the wife of Jupiter, is responsible for the birth of the Milky Way Galaxy born from the milk of her breast spilled from the mouth of Hercules. More recently, in the 20th century, the astronomers discovering the Galactic Center, a black hole in the center of the Milky Way Galaxy located along the ecliptic at the same place as the Maya World Tree, believe it to be the source of everything in our galaxy including human consciousness. When we are under the influence of Sagittarius we instinctively understand the evolutionary calling of cosmic consciousness expanding our perception of life beyond the contours of our ordinary experiencing taking us to a place different than our material self. Taking our cue from the symbol for Sagittarius, half man and half horse shooting an arrow to the heavens, when we are under the influence of Sagittarius we aim our sight for the stars.

The motivating force of Sagittarius is our quest for the quintessential meaning of life requiring the full immersion of our mind and senses in a broad experiencing of life. In Greek and Roman mythology centaurs were creatures born of raw instinct with an unbridled sensuality often expressed in human form as a fun loving and robust sexuality not mired in the tribal mating rituals of either fidelity or commitment. On the surface of life this behavior appears lacking in respect and sensitivity to the feelings and needs of others, yet, if we reach beyond the surface we encounter the unconscious motivate; sensitivity to a stultifying tribal view of reality that compels us to break through the “chains that bind” into a more universal perspective that is respectful of the source of all life

Chiron, half brother to Jupiter, and progenitor of the race of Centaurs, was a wise teacher and healer of gods and humankind alike who himself suffered an incurable wounding which only his death could absolve. He arranged with the Olympian gods to exchange his immortal life for the release of Prometheus, the giver of fire to humankind, by entering Hades and freeing Prometheus from his chained bondage to a rock. The planetary body discovered in the 1970’s and named after the mythological Chiron orbits between Saturn and Uranus offering us on Earth a mediator between our bondage to traditional authority and our ability to unleash our full creative potential. When we are under the influence of Chiron we are made aware of a wounding we inherited from the collective experiences of humanity which can only be healed by dying to an aspect of our individuality which has inhibited our conscious awareness. The necessity for our healing is made all the more urgent with the insistence of the current Saturn-Uranus opposition.

Yesterday the Sun entered Sagittarius following Mars and followed today by Mercury. This celestial trio is offering a period of cosmic expansion broadening our perception of what our life can be. Mars our impulse to be, the Sun our essential life force, and Mercury our interpreter of reality, are under the influence of an evolutionary growth in consciousness that can shift our focus from what we do, our achievements in life, to who we are, the discovery of the essence of our life. Admittedly, this journey is an elaborate odyssey taking the entirety of our life before reaching our final destination, but this month we are given extra guidance from a potent cluster of planetary ruler ship with Jupiter and Saturn at the helm.

Sun, Mars, and Mercury in Sagittarius are disposed by Jupiter in Capricorn, the sign of Saturn’s ruler ship, and in trine to Saturn in Virgo, the sign of Mercury’s ruler ship. Uranus in Pisces is under the shared ruler ship of Jupiter and Neptune, and Neptune is in Aquarius along side Chiron and the North Node, all disposed by a Saturn and Uranus shared ruler ship. Venus in Capricorn and Pluto’s ingress into Capricorn cement this cosmic union of an extended celestial family which mirrors the potential unity of the extended family of humanity on Earth. This cosmic flurry of activity promises that we can manifest an inspired vision for the future if we reach beyond the perceptual box of what is and fully participate with all of humanity to create what can be.

This will be made more clear to us later in December when first Mercury, then the Sun, and lastly Mars square the Saturn – Uranus opposition alerting us on earth that certain structures created to serve society are ready to be fully integrated into the service of a greater humanity; the only caution being that we do not encourage those in authority to “throw out the baby with the bath water”. At the same time it is essential that we clearly understand the nature of the social policies presented in service to society and who exactly in society they serve.

At the end of November Venus in Capricorn dances in harmony with a newly directed Uranus in Pisces before joyfully falling into the arms of Jupiter. Tradition holds sway that when the two beneficent planets, Jupiter and Venus, are in joyful harmony that which we call luck springs eternal. Uranus in Pisces, the sign of exaltation for Venus, further suggests a universal awakening in what we value in life. The only advisable warning is to make sure that we do not become complacent observers expecting the change in our future to come from the efforts of others. Jupiter and Saturn are telling us that our efforts are an essential component for doing the work needed to accomplish the goal.

Pluto, our celestial ambassador having recently conjoined the Milky Way Galaxy adds a sobering mood to this months celestial euphoria when entering Capricorn; insuring that evolutionary transformation is on our horizon but not before we experience a significant death of an aspect of our self which we have held dear to our heart. This is not a time to fearfully cling to our past if we sincerely want a better future for our self, our tribe, our species, our Earth.

The Scorpio lunation cycle that began our investigation into self-honesty is nearing completion reflecting the face of the Leo waning Moon and the innocent exuberance of our self-expression. Every month, the waning phase of the Moon offers us a time for self-reflecting and integrating the creative energies we have released during the lunar cycle. When the waning Moon is in Leo our self-reflection is accompanied with a certain restless anxiety at having to shine for our self alone. Leo is that aspect in each of us telling our self how boring it is to be an audience of one, and yet, this is the grace and beauty offered Leo; bringing to conscious awareness a blossoming self-assured confidence not dependent upon the approving applause of another. When we are under the influence of a waning Moon we experience the dark face of our unconscious, and in Leo this dark face reveals the past rejections and exclusions we have experienced that are in need of healing in the present.

When under the influence of Leo we feel the vitality of life pulsating through every cell of our being sincerely wanting to share with others the warmth and vibrancy of our solar light, yet, we can behave like an unaware child basking in the radiance of our solar light blind to the effect we have on others and insensitive to their individual needs. The solar radiance of Leo can scorch the sensitive receptivity of the Moon alienating us from our deeper emotional needs. The Leo waning Moon brings the opportunity of contemplating our deeper needs by bringing to the surface our self-doubts and insecurities. Leo is that aspect in each of us seeking security within our self and the greatest lesson learned from Leo is the self-love expressed in our giving love freely from our heart to our self and unequivocally to everyone else.

The waning Moon always makes a square with the Sun suggesting an internal conflict requiring a creative solution. Before making a square to the Sun the Moon conjoins the South Node in Leo, opposes the North Node, Chiron, and Neptune in Aquarius, and makes a square to Mercury in Scorpio. The insecurity of Leo expressing our need to impress others is clouding our capacity to see an inner truth about our self. Leo is that aspect in each of us seeking self-respect regardless of what others think or say and the emotional distance and objectivity offered Aquarius can help us become less vulnerable to the approval of the group. This waning Moon seems to be challenging us to embrace our unique individuality without loosing our sensitivity and awareness of the needs of others. The Moon-Neptune opposition suggests that emotional deception is creating the unrealistic expectations we harbor about what others can give to us. This waning Moon is gently reminding us that the illuminating gift of Leo is our capacity to give love to others and the illuminating gift of Aquarius is our capacity to receive love from others; a realization guaranteed to mark our inner transforming if we resist the temptation to remain complacent with the ways of our past.

Our day begins with a Sagittarius Venus challenging the Saturn – Uranus opposition creating an atmosphere of conflict between our values, social tradition, and innovation. Venus is that aspect in ourself weighing what we value with what others value to create an equilibrium between the two; a daunting challenge for most of us and harbinger of the well trodden brier path we often experience in our long term relationships. When Venus is in Sagittarius what we value is our freedom to expand in conscious awareness beyond what is familiar and comfortable stimulating our appetite for foreign adventure and philosophical questing. The gift of Sagittarius is our sincere interest in diversity and our eagerness to explore a myriad of foreign ideas with a keen intent toward enlarging the scope of our personal interests in life. When we are under the influence of Sagittarius our enthusiasm rides boundless and the one danger we may meet on our quest is our self-righteous indignation and fanatical intolerance for the opinions and ideas of others. When this happens we are definitely experiencing the shadow face of Sagittarius, and it is likely that this is the face of Sagittarius presented to us in the square Venus delivers first to Saturn and then to Uranus.

The Saturn – Uranus opposition is a struggle between two seemingly opposing forces; Saturn preserving social traditions and Uranus championing innovative changes that break free from those traditions. At least this is what appears at first glance, however, the Venus square casts a warning that intolerance and fanaticism are blocking both the preserving of tradition and the changing of tradition. Cosmic truth says that Saturn and Uranus need one another; traditional values without the breathe of innovation offers brittle bones, and innovation without the wisdom’s of tradition offers wholesale obstinacy. This tells me that it is possible for this Saturn- Uranus transit to work together bringing innovation to tradition but not without conflict from the extremist opinions circulating the globe, which in American society in particular seems ruthlessly bent on redistributing constitutional powers. Saturn in Virgo heralds a sharp eye to distribution suggesting that this is a prime time to redistribute social power but as a means for improving health, work, and the environment, not as a method heralding global privatization serving the interests of a few. Uranus in Pisces directs our attention away from revolutionary ideals to a revolution in consciousness asking us to shift our perspective of what our life can be.

For this to happen we need the cooperation of Mercury, our celestial messenger, translating our unconscious motives into our conscious realizations. Tonight, Mercury conjoins Pluto suggesting a definite transforming in our perceptions of what we think we know but not without confronting our personal intolerance to the opinions of others. Tomorrow, Mercury enters Scorpio intensifying our investigation into the shadowy world of our unconscious motives and the unconscious motives of others. Scorpio demands above all else self-honesty. It is that aspect in each of us seeking to free the truth imprisoned by the lies. When we are under the influence of Scorpio we are leery of what others conceal and the challenge with Mercury in Scorpio is not becoming doggedly suspicious and mistrusting of the motives of others to the extent that we withdraw from participating out of shear disgust. Instead we needed to use the surgical precision offered when Mercury is in Scorpio to cut through the mental manipulation of others and discover what really is being said.

We need to be watchful of mixed messages and smoke screens distracting our attention from the primary concerns of the moment. Tonight, Mars makes a square to a newly stationed Neptune in Aquarius upsetting our equilibrium by accentuating our fear of survival. Mars is powerfully placed in Scorpio and the square to Neptune indicates that our will to act could be knocked off balance. When Mars is in Scorpio our desire to have what we want is magnified by our fear to survive and we often act with great force to obtain what we want. The atmosphere is definitely intense under a Scorpio Mars and we need be aware of over reacting out of fear; ours and others. Either way, we need to be aware that fear is running at a fevered pitch and before taking action we need to cool down and stand our ground lest we deliver our control and self-determination into unscrupulous hands. The greatest gift of a Scorpio Mars is our unwavering commitment to uncover the hidden underpinnings of our problems to allow for transforming solutions.

Neptune in Aquarius promises rational insight into what is happening around us if we can separate reality from fantasy and not fall prey to imaginary fears. Neptune always asks for self-sacrifice and in Aquarius it suggests sacrificing what we think we know to allow for innovative solutions to the problems we are facing. There are many situations in life that contribute to the quality of our survival and we are well heeded to step back and take a look at the big picture offered Venus in Sagittarius, the scrupulous unveiling of lies and secrets offered Mercury in Scorpio, and the penetrating will to transform our fears offered Mars in Scorpio.

The Moon, our celestial mediator, is actively interweaving celestial conversations stirring up the cosmos and events in our lives. New Moon to Waxing Moon.
